Greed is more easily noticeable in others than it is noticeable in us. When we are motivated by greed we will easily believe this lie: I need it, I must have it, and with it, life will be better. In this sermon, Pastor Humphreys shares the truth of the gospel which is dependent on us giving all of us to Jesus and not being concerned about finding our worth in the things we can accumulate for ourselves. Greed motivates us to find security in the stuff we have but the gospel invites us to find security in God. Greed motivates us to feel entitled but the gospel invites us to be grateful Greed motivates us to trust in the bigger barns but the gospel invites us to trust in a bigger God Our response to greed should be to pursue generosity, contentment and live in anticipation that we will experience God’s goodness Greed says “ I need it, I must have it, and with it, life will be better.” The Gospel says “ I need Jesus, I must have him, with him life will be better” Hope you will be encouraged and be moved towards growth as you engage yourself in this sermon.
