God says not to be afraid, not to those who are not afraid, but to those who are. God’s solution to our fears is found in the provision of His presence. Sometimes, we mistakenly believe that having faith means not feeling afraid. However, true faith involves feeling afraid yet choosing to be with God where He is and where He is calling you. He doesn’t just say, “Do not be afraid”; He says, “Do not be afraid, for I am with you! You are not alone.”

God’s presence is the solution to the fears you face right now.

The more aware you are of God’s presence in your life, the smaller your fears will appear. Conversely, the less aware you are of God’s presence, the bigger your fears will seem.

• –  In the Christmas story, God speaks to people who are afraid.
• –  In the Christmas story, God speaks to those who are unsure of their actions and feel insecure.
• –  In the Christmas story, God speaks to those who are uncertain about tomorrow or their future.
• –  In the Christmas story, God even speaks to those unwilling to ponder how things will turn out because, from their current perspective, things are not looking good. The good news is that the mighty God loves to stand by the side of those who feel small if they are willing to trust Him. In this sermon series, we hope to explore how God calls us to be where He is and to join in what He is doing so that we can experience Him deeply.
