Pastor Sean Kampondeni founded Flood Church Lilongwe in 2008. In 2017 Sean began a process of engaging the Elders to transition the church from being Founder-led to being Elder-led, as the church continued to grow. In July 2018 Sean voluntarily relinquished his position as Lead Pastor of our congregation and Humphreys Mkandawire assumed that office. As a gesture of appreciation to Sean and his family for their labor of love in establishing the church, we agreed to released Sean to take a one year sabbatical from July 2018- June 2019.
As the sabbatical came to an end, in the Worship Gathering on Sunday June 30th 2019 Pastor Humphreys interviewed Pastor Sean about his experience of the one year sabbatical. You can listen to the audio of the interview here.
The Elders of Flood Church Lilongwe, constituting the General Oversight Team of the Flood Church Lilongwe congregation, released a public press statement about the transition process that the church has journeyed through which you can read here.

Hi there
I visited your church on the 30th June and was blessed so much! It was such a joy to see such a healthy transition taking place! Your interview was totally inspiring and so full of wisdom.
I was visiting with Ali Husbands to be with the Dalitso Trust and Vineyard Pastors the following week.
Just wanted to say thank you for your warm welcome!
