I am Julius Jules Banda, I am 26 years old. This is my story of transformation that marked the genesis of my new life in Christ. It was on 9thDecember, 2012. I was a freshman at the University Of Malawi, Chancellor College. Prior to this day I had been asking a lot of questions about God, most revolved around his grace for the people. I was tired of the way I was and I felt the need to be on the path to transformation by the Gospel. I attended Church at the invite of one of my friends and this church became a home to me.
On this December day the sermon revolved around the grace of God, which was, quite similar to what I had been asking questions about. I wrestled with forgiveness based on the life I had been involved in my earlier years. I also wrestled and struggled with forgiveness for my sins and those who had wronged me. On this particular Sunday morning, the preacher drew me in to the gospel in a new way.
I was shaking the entire time and after the sermon he open the floor for those who needed to commit and recommit their lives to Jesus. He asked us to close our eye and when we did I heard him say, “thank you for that hand”. At this point I was convinced that I was not going to be the only if I were to raise mine. I ended up raising my hand and before I knew it I was the only one. He called me to the front and he prayed with me. That day marked the onset on my new life. Of many decisions I have made, that was the most important one and I am grateful for Jesus because now I am born again.
